Swim
You swim one full session with the group that fits your age. A coach stays close the whole time.
Plan
Afterwards we tell you where you stand, which group fits, and what we would work on first.
And if you join
Your first month.
The assessment tells you where you stand. This is what happens next, and it is the part most academies never describe.
- 01We read your history
Every time you have raced, where you have trained, what worked and what did not. Most of the first conversations are about the things that did not.
- 02We pick your events
Not the ones you have always swum — the ones your times and your build actually point at. Plenty of swimmers find out they are not the sprinter they thought they were.
- 03We set the goal, then break it
A season goal, agreed with you, cut into numbers you can carry into a session: a split, an effort, a time on a set. That becomes your baseline.
- 04It all goes in the app
Your times, your attendance, your progress against that baseline. You and your parents see the same screen your coach does.
After that you are on the same footing as everyone else: racing most weeks, filmed, and sitting down with your coach each season to set the next goal.
If you're sending a child
Who is watching them.
- The pool has a lifeguard on duty, provided by the academy, separate from our coaches.
- Our coaches are trained in first aid and CPR.
- A coach is on deck for the whole session. Nobody swims unsupervised.
- You are welcome to stay and watch. Plenty of parents do, especially at first.
- If we photograph a session for Instagram, we ask you first, and you can say no at any point without it being awkward.
Anything else you want to ask before you send your child, ask it on WhatsApp. We would rather answer twenty questions than have you wondering.

Questions we get a lot.
Do I need to be fast already?
No — but you do need to be a swimmer. We coach people who swim all four strokes and want to race: some arrive already competing for a club or school, others have never raced and want to start. What we don't do is teach swimming from scratch. Not sure which side of that you're on? Message us and we'll tell you straight.
Is the assessment really free?
Yes, completely. You swim, we watch, and we tell you what we think. If we're not the right fit for you, we'll say that too.
What if I've never trained with a club?
You don't need a racing history — you need racing ambition. Some of our swimmers started their first season with us. You'll start with the right group for your age and level, and your first weeks are mostly about getting the strokes right.
What does a session actually look like?
Two and a half hours. A short warm-up on land, a technique block, the main set (the coach explains what it's for), then speed and wall work to finish. Each session of the week has its own focus, and most nights the full coaching staff is on deck.
How does squad placement work?
The coaches place you after watching you swim. If you're 14 or older and racing, you swim with Red or Blue — Red leans sprint, Blue leans middle-distance, and we decide from your racing history and what we see in the water, not from a label. Some sprinters swim Blue. Adults have their own Masters group, and juniors start in the junior squad, where the advanced ones move up.
How many nights a week does my swimmer have to come?
It depends on the group. Red and Blue train the full week: Saturday to Wednesday evenings, plus Friday afternoon. Juniors train three to six sessions and we settle the number with you. Masters train evenings on a shorter week we build around adult schedules.
It finishes at 10:30 PM on a school night. Is that a problem?
Sessions run 8:00 to 10:30 PM, Saturday to Wednesday — but Juniors are out of the water at 10:00 PM, so a twelve-year-old is not doing the squads' night. Most of our families settle into it, and Thursday is a full rest day. If the late finish is too much on certain nights, tell us and we'll plan around it rather than lose you.
Can we join now, or do we have to wait for a new term?
You can start whenever you like. We take swimmers all year round, so there is no point waiting for a date on a calendar.
How do the fees work?
Training is billed monthly, and the amount depends on the program and how many sessions a week your swimmer does. Club kit is bought separately. There is nothing else to pay on top. We will go through the exact numbers with you at the free assessment, before you commit to anything.
Will my swimmer get to race?
Yes, most weeks. We run our own timed meets year-round, sometimes twice in a week, and we film every race so your swimmer can watch it back with a coach. We also enter swimmers in events they haven't tried — it keeps the sport interesting, and it shows us what they are actually good at. For official competition, our swimmers race for their own club or their school, and we do the season's training behind it.

This goes straight to the coaches. We usually reply within a day, on WhatsApp if you've left a number.
